Calculate the standard deviation for the data reported:

$850, 912, 980, 1012, 1060, 1407, 1600, 1602, 1680, 1700$

Step 1

In order to create a table that represents this data, click anywhere in ClassPad to bring up the ClassPad menu, and click on the Statistical Data icon.

Step 2

Enter the data set.

Step 3

To calculate the standard deviation, select the data in the table and click Calculation in the pop-up menu. Then select One-Variable.

Step 4

Make sure the correct column where the data is located appears in the drop-down list and then click “more.”

Step 5

The standard deviation for a population is $σ x$ , and for a sample, $s x$ .
