Step 1
Revisit the Antigone Anticipation Guide that we filled out during the first lesson.
Follow the directions on the guide. You will read each statement and complete only the right-hand side, on the End of Unit section.
Step 2
Compare your answers on the Antigone Anticipation Guide with a partner or in a small group. As you discuss, consider the following questions:
For which statements did your agreement remain the same? Why?
For which statements did your agreement moderately change? Why?
For which statements, did your agreement completely change? Why?
Activity 4: Read – Write – Discuss
For homework, we will prepare for the Section Diagnostic by completing a Forming Evidence-Based Claims Tool to guide our selection and analysis of evidence in order to support a claim.
For homework, complete a Forming Evidence-based Claim Tool using the following question:
How does Antigone explore the idea of unintended consequences?
The goal is to equip yourself with ample evidence (citations from the play, information from your Character Argument Note-Taking Tool and supplemental texts, etc.) and have a general understanding of how you might contribute to the Section 4 Diagnostic discussion in the following lesson.
