Section 4: Overview

Finalizing Inquiry

We continue to analyze our sources, organize our evidence, develop claims to refine and extend our inquiry, and determine what we still need to learn, investigate, and explore to finalize our research.

  • Lesson 1:

Organize Evidence to Address Inquiry Paths

We will review our notes and analyses across our sources to address the inquiry paths that have framed our research.

  • Lesson 2:

    Evaluate Research

We will review and discuss our research frames and researched materials to determine relevance, coherence, and sufficiency.

  • Lesson 3:

    Present and Review

We will share our research with another research team to receive and provide feedback to inform further revisions and establish our next steps as we prepare to finalize our inquiry.

  • Lesson 4:

    Refine and Extend Inquiry

We will meet with our teams to review, reflect on, and discuss our feedback. We will plan for and continue revisions to finalize our research,

collaborating with our team to refine and strengthen our investigation in preparation for creating our presentation in the next section. We will also compose invitations to invite possible audience members to our presentation.

  • Lesson 5:

We will reflect on our work and process, submit our finalized research materials for feedback and formative assessment, and prepare for the next section of the unit, in which we create and deliver our presentation.
