Activity 1: Listen – Read – Discuss – Write

We will obtain peer feedback and make any necessary revisions.

Read your essay draft aloud to a peer and provide feedback on whether the thesis statement is sufficiently supported in a clear and coherent way as the essay progresses. Use the Culminating Task Checklist to discuss with your partner if your essay is doing what it is supposed to do. Revise the ideas, evidence, and explanations of your essay as needed.

When the development and organization of your essay seem solid, turn your attention to its sentences and work to improve their variety, vigor, and exactness.

Review your Vocabulary and Mentor Sentence Journals. Be sure you incorporate at least one word and emulate one stylistic technique in your essay.
