Foundation Unit: Who Changes the World?

Change is a constant in our world—now more than ever. But who changes the world, and how? In this unit, we will study specific moments in history and culture when significant changes occurred. We will begin by exploring the concept of change, considering how contexts can give rise to change and individuals who become the agents of change. We will then use our common understanding to explore how change occurs in various aspects of society like politics, technology and science, considering figures from President John F. Kennedy to Marie Curie. In small research teams, we will explore a specific area of our interest, conducting our own research into change agents. Our work will culminate in presentations from each research team to enrich our understanding of our Central Question: Who changes the world?
