Section 4: Overview

Culminating Task

We will deliver our research presentations, respond to our classmates’ presentations, and write our reflective narratives.

  • Lesson 1:

    We will revise and rehearse our presentations in order to be prepared for the Culminating Task.

  • Lesson 2:

    We will present our Culminating Task and actively listen to and participate in the presentations of our classmates.

  • Lesson 3:

    We will begin writing our individual reflections that describe our research processes and explain our strengths and areas of growth as readers, writers, collaborators, and presenters.

  • Lesson 4:

    We will revise our individual reflective narratives.

  • Lesson 5:

    We will edit our individual reflections of our groups’ research processes and our own reading, writing, collaborating, and presenting skills.

  • Lesson 6:

    We will finish this unit by engaging in a whole-class discussion about change agents. We will also discuss the Culminating Task topics that relate to the unit and identify possible pathways to explore for the Application Unit.

  • Lesson 7:

    In a culminating activity, we share the knowledge we have gained and the connections we have made by reading our independent reading texts.
