Foundation Unit 1: How Can I Prepare for Life after High School?
How can we prepare for life after high school? Navigating the differences among collegiate, vocational, or military pathways is a daunting task; we need to know our options and choose what is best for us based on our goals and interests. Whatever our plans are, we need to be prepared. In this unit, we will explore various pathways for life after graduation, from attending a four-year college or community college to entering a vocational or technical profession, or joining the military. We will read informational texts to build our knowledge and understanding of our options. In research teams, we will explore pathways more deeply that fit with our goals and interests. In our teams, we will work on portfolios of documents and research to prepare ourselves for our lives after high school.
