Activity 1: Read – Discuss – Write – Listen

We will review the criteria and format for the section 2 diagnostic.

You and your partner have been researching your sources and working on your annotated bibliographies. For the Section 2 Diagnostic, you will do the following:

  • write a half-page response that summarizes the findings of your research and explains the connection to 1984

  • present your findings to other groups

For the presentation, you will have two minutes to present your findings to another research team. The members of the other research team will have one minute to ask you any follow-up questions. Once the three minutes are over, you will switch and present your findings to a new group.

While the presentation format is informal, you will still need to carefully prepare to ensure you do the following:

  • share equal participation

  • actively engage with your listeners (and not read directly from your summaries)

  • stay within the time limits

Activity 2: Read – Write

We will prepare for the section 2 diagnostic.

Follow your plan and use this time to complete your research and annotated bibliographies. Draft a half-page summary of your findings and decide what you will present from your findings and how you will share participation during the presentation. Be sure to use at least one key word from your Vocabulary Journal in your response.

Complete the research project for homework, if necessary.
