Section 2: Section Diagnostic

Work in pairs to research how a central idea presented in the novel is reflected in contemporary society. Do the following with your partner:

• Select your topic from a list (or generate your own) and gather information from at least four credible sources to ensure you have a well-informed and unbiased understanding of the topic.

• Write a half-page response that summarizes the findings of your research and explains the connection to 1984.

• Write an annotated bibliography that summarizes the content of each source and justifies its validity.

• Present your findings to other groups.
