Section 3: Section Diagnostic

Write a short vignette of your identified contemporary problem or issue that focuses on one aspect of your story (e.g., use of tone, developing setting, staging the problem, use of time). Write a brief analysis of your vignette, defending the effectiveness of your narrative choices.

To succeed on this task, do the following:

  • Submit an annotated bibliography with at least six sources for your narrative.

  • Draft a short vignette that focuses on one aspect of your story.

  • Write an analysis of your vignette that does the following:

    • defends your narrative choices and evaluates their effectiveness

    • explains how your research is incorporated in your vignette to create a plausible and vivid imagined world for your reader
