Activity 1: Discuss

We will discuss our story’s narrative sequences and outlines with a group to obtain feedback.

In a group, share details about your story’s plot structure and outline. During the discussion, provide reinforcing or constructive feedback.

Use terms and information from the Narratives Reference Guide and the criteria on the Culminating Task Checklist to guide your feedback.

Activity 2: Write

We will begin to draft our narrative story.

Think about the feedback from your peers. Decide which constructive feedback would be most beneficial to strengthen the effectiveness of your message. You do not have to use every piece of feedback. This is your narrative story, and you are the author who decides which choices to make.

Review your Vocabulary Journal. Identify significant words that you would like to use in your story.

Review your Mentor Sentence Journal. Select at least one technique that you would like to use in your story.

Draft your narrative story. Finish the draft for homework, if necessary. Be prepared to use the first draft in the next lesson.
