Activity 1: Read

We will organize our portfolios and decide which artifacts need to be completed or revised.

Review the Portfolio Requirements. Make sure you have all your artifacts in order. Add the cover letter that you completed in the last lesson or for homework.

Complete the following questions in your Learning Log:

  1. Are you missing anything from your portfolio?

  2. If you had to submit this portfolio to your institution of choice right now, what artifacts would need the most immediate revisions?

  3. What is the most useful artifact in your portfolio? Why is it the most useful?

Discuss your responses with your pathway group.

Activity 2: Write – Discuss

Peer review your pathway-specific artifacts with your group.

Share your portfolio with your pathway group and then read through the Pathway Review Checklist for your pathway. Talk to your peers about how to structure the peer review process so that it flows smoothly. Offer and listen to ideas about how to facilitate the process. Ask questions to clarify your teammates’ ideas. Come up with a set of instructions to guide the process for your pathway team.

Begin your peer review, following the directions and time stamps on the handout.

Activity 3: Discuss

We will discuss the peer review.

With the whole class, share what was most helpful to you during the peer review and what revisions you might make as a result—this could be part of a discussion, the annotations and margin notes, or your realizations.

For homework, complete any necessary revisions of your reflections or other artifacts. During the next discussion, we will exchange portfolios for an official peer review of the artifacts before having a final walkthrough.

Add an example work sample from the optional pieces in the Portfolio Requirements if available.
